I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in the Lismore Base art trail, where I was commissioned to create four paintings for the hospital. This proved to be an extraordinary chance for me to reflect on my artistic direction, particularly due to the associated deadline. Contemplating what I wanted to convey and considering the significance of my message became a crucial aspect of this experience.

Recalling my snorkeling experiences at the Great Barrier Reef played a pivotal role in shaping my artistic choices. Having had the privilege of snorkeling there twice, along with a more recent experience at the Tangalooma wrecks, these encounters significantly influenced the direction of my paintings. While the Tangalooma wrecks experience occurred after the hospital paintings, it further enriched and clarified my artistic vision.

My overarching goal is to elicit a sense of awe and excitement in viewers, transporting them to the depicted locations. Alongside this, I aim to convey a message about the importance of conserving marine habitats, wherever they may be found.
